Business Description Sjöparksskolan is Gällivare Municipality's only municipal upper secondary school in the town center and is located next to Sjöparken and Isborgen, the municipality's ice arena. The school has approximately 410 students and approximately 55 staff members. The school has recently been renovated to meet the requirements of an upper secondary school and has a modern design. The school places great emphasis on creating good learning environments, collegial learning, and developing sustainable structures to prepare students for the future. The school also has school nurses and school counselors on site. There is also a special education teacher, social pedagogue, study and career counselor. 2 key pedagogues work to develop our digital competence and the school has a substitute teacher who covers short-term absences. Lead teachers work on subject development. The school is divided into 3 work teams, each led by a team leader. New and unqualified staff are mentored by experienced and qualified colleagues as part of their introduction and in ongoing daily teaching work. The school has the opportunity for students with special needs to work in smaller teaching groups. A preparatory class for newly arrived students is available at the school. You prepare, plan, conduct, and evaluate student progress and your own teaching. You work in close collaboration with guardians. You actively participate in school meetings and contribute to the school's and your own development. Most pedagogues also work as a class mentor. Qualifications We are looking for someone with certification in Science/Technology for grades 7-9, who has a present and attentive approach to students' different needs, is a clear leader, and has good collaboration skills. You are independent, take responsibility, and easily take your own initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to explore new ways of working. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality. Upon employment, we require an extract from the police criminal record.
