The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary education, and child and student health—we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future. Väröbackaskolan is located in the community of Väröbacka, just under 20 kilometers north of Varberg city center. As of fall 2026, the school will accommodate 650 students in grades F-9 following extensive renovation and expansion. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you provide students with the conditions to grow based on their unique needs and goals. Main responsibilities: • Plan, lead, and evaluate instruction based on curriculum guidelines and chosen didactic strategies. • Meet each student in their learning progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through professional leadership. • Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence. • Promote a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians. • Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in daily pedagogy. QUALIFICATIONS It is important to us that you have a genuine commitment to the teaching profession and see it as a meaningful task to make a difference for children and young people. You are a confident pedagogical leader who, with warmth and clarity, provides guidance and creates the structure needed for a safe learning environment. For you, collaboration with colleagues is a prerequisite for success; you work without ego to develop the operation together with others. You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have good intuition for the group, are flexible, have didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, learning progression, and current state. We are looking for you who: • Have teacher certification with qualifications to teach Science for grades 7-9. • Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific foundation. • Demonstrate skill in planning and systematically following up on activities within given frameworks. • Have good assessment ability to monitor student development and provide constructive feedback. • Have clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas.
