Själevad is beautifully located by the Moälven river, approximately 6 kilometers west of central Örnsköldsvik. If you are new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an introduction program for new teachers that includes a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject credentials who can guide and support you. Job Responsibilities You will teach mathematics, technology, and science subjects in grades 7-9 and will have overall responsibility for the student group and handle the documentation and contacts that this entails. Contact and collaboration with guardians is an important part of the work. The assignment involves planning, implementing, and following up on instruction together with a work team. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a teaching degree with subject credentials in mathematics, technology, and science subjects or other experience that the employer considers appropriate. We are looking for someone who enjoys being challenged and thinking innovatively, who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is something you take for granted. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sámi varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.
