Vammarskolan is Valdemarsvik municipality's only primary school for grades 4–9 and has approximately 300 students. The school is centrally located in Valdemarsvik, with a bus stop for connections to Söderköping and Norrköping just outside the school, while also being close to nature. We are now seeking a mathematics and technology teacher for grades 7–9 who wants to become part of our teaching team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a mathematics and technology teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, following up on, and developing instruction based on the curriculum and other regulatory documents. The assignment also includes assessment and grading. You create instruction where students are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge based on their different conditions. You work systematically with clear goals, progression, and follow-up, and help students understand both what they should learn and how they can develop further. In mathematics instruction, you work to develop students' understanding, problem-solving ability, and confidence in their own mathematical ability. You have the ability to meet students who have progressed to different levels in their knowledge development and can both support and challenge them in instruction. In technology instruction, you create opportunities for students to develop their ability to identify and solve problems, test and reconsider ideas, carry out construction work, and develop understanding of technical solutions and systems. The position may include mentoring. As a mentor, you have an important role in following up on students' knowledge development, attendance, and school situation. You work to create good relationships with students and maintain close dialogue with colleagues, student support services, and guardians. As a teacher at Vammarskolan, you are part of the school's shared work. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily seeking you who are a certified teacher with credentials to teach mathematics and technology in grades 7-9. You have clear pedagogical leadership and the ability to create structure, safety, and study conditions in the classroom. You build good relationships with students while being confident in your adult role and clear about expectations, boundaries, and responsibility. You have the ability to meet students with different needs and conditions and adapt instruction so that students receive both support and challenges. For us, it is important that you believe in students' ability to develop and have high and realistic expectations for their learning.
