We are now seeking a mathematics and science teacher who wants to make a difference for students who need more than traditional instruction. What they have in common is that for various reasons, they need a smaller setting, close support, and adapted instruction to succeed in school. Teaching takes place both individually and in small groups based on each student's knowledge level and needs. We don't just work toward students reaching their academic goals. Which unit you work at is determined based on operational needs and your competence. Regardless of unit, you become part of a multiprofessional team with teachers, counselors, curators, special education specialists, and psychologists. Together we create a safe and structured environment where students receive the support they need to develop. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES You teach mathematics and all science subjects. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction according to applicable curriculum documents. The work is characterized by flexibility and a relational approach where you adapt both instruction and interactions, as well as content, to each student's circumstances and daily needs. The goal is for students to progress as far as possible in their studies, but equally important is contributing to increased self-esteem, motivation, and hope for the future. You will also serve as a mentor for a small number of students and work closely with guardians, student health services, and external actors such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and habilitation services. The role also includes leading motivating activities with students outside the classroom, such as study visits and outdoor activities. You also actively participate in the organization's improvement and development work. QUALIFICATIONS You are a certified teacher with authorization to teach mathematics, at minimum in grades 6-9, and in at least one science subject. You have several years of experience teaching mathematics and have worked with young people who need comprehensive support to succeed in school. A driver's license (Class B) is required. You have the ability to build relationships over time and are motivated by finding new pathways to learning when the obvious solutions aren't enough. If you have special education training and have taken courses in special education, that is an advantage. Experience working in a motivating way with students at middle or upper secondary level who have various challenges is a merit.
