Teacher of IDH & English, Grades 7-9 (Temporary Position) at Vega School

In addition to operations for primary school grades F-9 and adapted primary school, we have a full-size sports hall, public library, youth center, cultural school, orchestra hall, and a café. The school's facilities are spacious, modernly furnished, and contain everything required for high-quality instruction. We have approximately 750 students in grades F-9, after-school care, and adapted primary school. During daytime, our facilities are used by the school. After school hours, the cultural school, associations, private individuals, and other actors conduct activities in parts of the facilities. The Culture and Recreation Administration and Education Administration staff work closely in these facilities to create opportunities for broader learning. Your Assignment We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to students' learning, safety, and future and whose teaching is characterized by high quality. You are comfortable with, have experience with, and are certified to teach IDH and English for grades 7–9. This temporary position is initially until the end of the year with the possibility of further extension. The employment rate is 75-100%. You are a clear leader who is confident in your teaching role. You are a creative, flexible, and engaged teacher who wants to develop instruction and who works to ensure that every student reaches as far as possible in their knowledge and personal development. You are committed to creating a safe learning environment based on mutual respect, and you understand the importance of instruction being creative and stimulating while being grounded in research and proven methods. You are unpretentious, curious, and share your knowledge with others. Your assignment includes, among other things, planning, implementing, evaluating, and being responsible for pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents and students' needs and interests; both individually and together with colleagues. Your assignment also includes mentoring one of our junior high classes, which you will share with one of your colleagues on the team. You will be part of one of the grade-level teams together with other colleagues; junior high has five parallel classes and a relatively large part of the school's operations. You are part of the collegial work in developing pedagogical activities; both within the team and throughout the school. All of the school's educators understand the importance of having an F-9 perspective, which we also expect from you. Another part of the thread is our common structure in and outside the classroom. Collaboration with colleagues is a key factor and a natural part where collegial learning is fundamental. At Vega School, we value the ability to create good relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. Since the Culture and Recreation Administration has parts of its operations in the same building, we consider it natural that you have an interest in and willingness to collaborate with other actors and see student goal achievement from a holistic perspective, where all parts contribute. What We Are Looking For in You You are a certified teacher with certification to teach IDH and English for grades 7-9, or alternatively certified in one of these subjects with experience teaching both.
