Your Responsibilities As an afterschool teacher, your starting point is to work based on the curriculum (Lgr22) to create the best possible conditions for each student. Your main responsibilities include: Teach and lead groups at the afterschool program with a focus on creative activities, movement, and values-based work. Plan, implement, document, and evaluate instruction, and actively work with the school's values. Create varied and challenging instruction adapted to the student group you work with, where digital tools are a natural part. Collaborate with colleagues and guardians to ensure the student's full school day and achieve higher goal attainment. Coordinate between the afterschool program and school activities. Promote collegial learning through discussion, reflection, and experience sharing with various professionals. Your Workplace Folkungaskolan is a combined primary and secondary school located in central Linköping, within comfortable walking distance from the city center. The Folkungaskolan afterschool program for grades 4-6 has 85 enrolled students, with approximately 30-40 students attending each day. All students in grades 4-6 are in a choir profile, meaning they sing in choir several times a week and have more music instruction. Throughout the year, several schedule breaks with various concerts are held. Activities at the afterschool program are based on student interests, with students having great opportunity to choose what they want to participate in. We work with students' creativity through both music and arts and crafts. For this, we use facilities near our afterschool program, such as our music studio, textile arts room, and ping-pong room. The afterschool program has 3 other certified afterschool teachers, including one senior teacher. We are looking for someone with drive who wants to help continue developing the afterschool program at Folkungaskolan. About You First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a teaching credential with certification in afterschool education. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a diploma or completed education as an afterschool teacher. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your education as an afterschool teacher. It is a merit if you have certification to teach multiple subjects, such as music or other subjects based on the program's needs. It is a requirement that you have experience as an afterschool teacher in a curriculum-based program, through internship or as an employee. It is a merit if you have worked as an afterschool teacher for at least one school year in grades 4-6. If you have knowledge of or experience working with students with diabetes, that is a merit. In your role as an afterschool teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other steering documents. You have strong communicative skills in speaking and writing in Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and conduct your work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As an afterschool teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning, and document it.
