SIA-skolan Hägersten is now seeking an aftercare teacher for a combined position in aftercare and school library. The position is 80% and is a fixed-term employment contract through February 26. About the Position This is a combined role involving work in both the school's aftercare program and the school library. The primary focus is on the aftercare program, while you will also play an important role in collaborating with the school's educators to develop a vibrant and accessible school library. We are primarily looking for someone with a teacher's degree in aftercare. Experience working in a school library, library, or with reading promotion initiatives is a plus. About Our Aftercare Program Our aftercare program serves students from preschool through grade 3. We have an engaged and conscientious team where everyone contributes to a safe, creative, and educational climate. The aftercare program works closely with the school's teachers and actively works to strengthen students' social skills, self-esteem, and learning—both during and after the school day. With us, you'll be part of an experienced and warm team that supports each other, shares ideas, and develops the program together. We are therefore looking for a colleague who is driven, responsible, and proactive, but also humble, relationship-building, and unpretentious. The majority of our students in grades F–5 take a school bus home every day. This means that the aftercare program has a clear focus on quality during the time students are present. This requires structure, good planning, and engaging content. For students in grades 4–6, we also offer an after-school club program. The club is an organized recreational option with planned activities in, for example, sports, creative arts, games, music, and student influence. The goal is to promote community, participation, and safety for our older students. Your responsibilities in aftercare include: planning, implementing, and evaluating meaningful activities in the aftercare program and club creating a safe, creative, and learning environment where students' needs and interests are valued contributing to students' social and emotional development working closely with colleagues in both aftercare and school being a present and reassuring adult during students' school day actively contributing to the school's compensatory mission Your Responsibilities in the School Library As part of this position, you will work with our school library and help make it a natural and inspiring part of students' school day. The work may include: organizing and developing the school library's environment and collection helping students find literature based on age, interest, and needs working with reading promotion activities and fostering students' curiosity about books and reading collaborating with teachers and other educational staff on reading and library activities contributing to making the school library a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment for our students We Are Looking for Someone Who We are primarily looking for someone with a teacher's degree in aftercare.
