Workplace Description At Gärdesskolan and Olaus Petri School, we continuously work to improve the pedagogical learning environment and develop collaborative learning among teachers. We have a school culture characterized by high expectations. Our teaching is structured and varied with a combination of traditional teaching materials and digital devices. Our high merit value is proof that students achieve academic success at Gärdesskolan. The merit value in grade 9 is among the highest in the city. The unit consists of two primary schools and one special education primary school on Östermalm; Gärdesskolan F-9 and special education primary school, and Olaus Petri School F-3. Together we are approximately 650 students and 120 employees working toward the goal of a good school for all. The special education primary school at Gärdesskolan recently underwent renovation to meet tomorrow's needs. As a result, student capacity is increasing to 40 students. Currently we have approximately 30 enrolled students studying both subjects and subject areas. Our special education primary school classes are integrated within the school and are part of the school's work teams that work inclusively based on students' needs and abilities, making use of natural interactions in the school's daily work. In teaching and after-school activities, there is access to group rooms, teaching kitchens, sensory rooms, motor skills rooms, studios, and multiple school yards. In some of the practical-aesthetic subjects, teachers from the primary school teach. We have a combined school day with after-school care activities, and for our students over 12 years of age, we offer short-term supervision. Short-term supervision and after-school care have their own facilities. The staff working in the special education primary school consists of special education teachers, special education specialists, resource pedagogues, and student assistants. We have a student health service with all professions. You have a solution-focused approach and are creative in meeting students' needs. You are responsible for the entire teaching process for students studying subject areas. You have a strong ability to build relationships with students. You can interpret social interactions among students, be an adult role model, trustworthy and confidence-building. The position involves extensive student contact, which requires you to act as a good role model for students. You plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate teaching individually and together with resource pedagogues. You have a mentoring role toward resource pedagogues and student assistants in the groups. You collaborate with after-school care and short-term supervision to enable the student's full learning process throughout the day. Qualifications We are seeking someone with teacher certification with authorization to teach students in special education primary school, primary school grades F-3, or education the employer deems equivalent. You have experience teaching students with intellectual disabilities. You have an inclusive approach. You have high expectations of yourself, your colleagues, and your students. You have good collaboration skills. For you, students are always in focus. You enjoy development and want to contribute to developing the operations. You have good knowledge and understanding of special education primary school and after-school care governing documents. You use creativity and adapt your approach, methods, and techniques based on the student's needs. You use available digital tools in your teaching and are experienced with visual teaching methods and TAKK. Experience working in special education primary school or with the target group for special education primary school. You have fluent command of Swedish in both spoken and written form. You have good collaboration skills and can build positive relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.
