The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varbergs kommun's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary education, and student health and wellbeing—we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future. Ankarskolan and Spannarps School form a shared school district in the southwestern part of Varbergs kommun. Ankarskolan has 570 students in grades F-9 and Spannarps School has approximately 30 students in grades F-3. In our development plan, we aim to meet the future through continued teaching development to achieve our vision: a school where all students have the opportunity to develop their self-esteem, find their inner motivation, and learn responsibility for their own learning and actions. All students are offered equivalent, high-quality education in a stimulating and safe environment. 1 position(s). DUTIES You will work as a substitute in the F-9 grades, either as a substitute classroom teacher or as a substitute in the after-school program, primarily at Ankarskolan, but you may also work at Spannarps School. You may teach students in grades F-9 in both theoretical and practical subjects, as well as in the after-school program. You may be responsible for planning activities independently and together with colleagues. Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. As a teacher in the after-school program with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment for students where we create the best possible conditions for learning. Together with your colleagues, you foster relational leadership where the quality of instruction is in focus. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied instruction, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through play, creative activities, and movement. Examples of work tasks: - Design instruction based on scientific evidence and proven experience. - Take responsibility for clear leadership that promotes student learning, participation, and influence. - Plan and follow up on instruction in the after-school program based on your choice of pedagogical and didactic strategies, adapted to students' needs. - Meet each student at their level of knowledge development and contribute to creating accessible learning environments. - Collaborate with colleagues to create continuity in students' learning throughout the school day. - Take responsibility for being a good role model and contribute to organizing planning and evaluation of instruction. QUALIFICATIONS As a teacher in the after-school program, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating instruction. Your teaching is based on proven experience and scientific evidence with an exploratory approach. You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the program by jointly planning and following up on instruction. You have good organizational skills and can adapt instruction based on students' needs and the school's goals. Together, we share the responsibility of creating a sustainable work environment where both students and staff can feel well, grow, and develop. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in this role, you have: - Teaching certification with eligibility to teach in the after-school program. - A holistic view of learning and instruction where you see opportunities to support students' development throughout the school day. - Good assessment skills to follow up on student development and provide constructive feedback. - Clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas in an organized manner. - Good didactic ability to translate the curriculum's purpose into practical activities. - Good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach.
