Adapted primary school in Öckerö municipality is located in purposeful and adapted facilities at Hedens school on Hönö. The activity has nearly 20 students and is characterized by close community, great commitment and a clear focus on each student's individual needs and development. Our facilities are designed to create a safe, accessible and stimulating learning environment. The outdoor environment also offers good opportunities for activity, play and recovery, with adapted play equipment that meets students' different needs. With us you will meet committed colleagues who work closely around students' entire school day. As a student assistant you work both during school hours and in the afterschool program and become an important part of the team around the students. Your role with us As a student assistant, you are a close and important support for students throughout their entire school day. Your main tasks include: • Provide individually adapted support to students in teaching, social situations, activities and daily routines. • Support students in their learning, communication, independence and social development according to each student's needs and conditions. • Work closely with teachers, special education teachers, educators and other colleagues to create structure, safety and continuity for students. • Work both during school hours and in the afterschool program and contribute to a meaningful, stimulating and safe leisure time. • Help students with transitions between different activities and environments during the day. • Participate in planning, implementation and follow-up of activities together with the team. • Prevent and manage challenging situations in a calm, clear and professional manner. • If needed, provide support with meals, personal care, transfers and other daily situations. • Contribute to good relationships with students, colleagues and guardians. Who are you? We are looking for someone with experience working with children and young people and who has a genuine interest in supporting students in adapted primary school. It is meritorious if you have education as a student assistant, childcare worker, support assistant or other education that the employer considers relevant. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disabilities or other support needs is important. Communication is an important part of the assignment. We would therefore like you to have knowledge of and experience with alternative and augmentative communication, AAC, or other similar communication support. As a person you are confident, attentive and responsible. You have a calm and respectful approach and the ability to adapt your working methods to students' different needs and moods. You are flexible and can switch between different tasks, environments and situations during the day. You see opportunities instead of obstacles and have patience, perseverance and great commitment to students' development. You enjoy collaborating, while you can take your own initiatives and act independently when the situation requires it.
