Organization Description Emmaskolan in Mettä Dokkas is a rural primary school in Gällivare municipality. It encompasses preschool class, after-school care, and grades 1-6 of primary school. The school has 50 students from Dokkas, Mettä Dokkas, Leipojärvi and surrounding villages, with steady population growth. Adjacent to the school is the newly built Emma preschool with two departments. The school has excellent access to large natural areas that are used in all student activities. Emmaskolan is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!" We want to give students knowledge and the skills to learn so they can create their own future. We continuously develop our teaching and learning environments so students have the best possible conditions for learning. Hakkas school within the same principal area has been awarded ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means continuous collaboration projects with other schools throughout Europe with opportunities for service-related travel for all participating educators from both Hakkas school and Emmaskolan. The goals for ERASMUS+ work are: to collaborate with other European schools facing similar challenges, to strengthen students' motivation to learn multiple languages, to further develop distance learning, and to give students and teachers the opportunity to see their home region from new perspectives. Responsibilities As an educator at Emmaskolan, you will work with all aspects of teaching. You prepare, plan, implement, and evaluate student progress and your own teaching. You work in close collaboration with guardians. You actively participate in school meetings and contribute to school and your own professional development. Most educators also serve as a class mentor. Qualifications We seek someone with certification for grades F-3 or 4-6, with an attentive and responsive approach to students' different needs, who is a clear leader and has good collaboration skills. Since we conduct teaching in B-form, we will place you according to your certification. You are independent, responsible, and take initiative easily. We develop our work through pedagogical dialogue and collegial learning, and we see it as a strength to help each other and dare to be curious about new ways of working. Personal suitability is given great weight. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit in applications for employment in Gällivare municipality. A criminal record clearance from the Swedish police is required for employment.
