You are warmly welcome to apply! Södermalmsskolan is a F-9 school that, together with Björneborgs school, is part of the central school district. Södermalmsskolan has approximately 850 students and many competent employees. Facilities and school grounds are divided between F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, where each level has its own naturally defined area with space for play and creativity. Together we work for students' right to good education and staff are the most important resource of the operation. As a teacher, you contribute to the development of the operation in the right direction and you provide our students with good conditions to grow and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as a teacher in our special education group, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching for students in F-3 who have difficulties functioning in a regular school situation. Teaching takes place in a small group with high staff density, but the work is intensive and requires high pedagogical skill, great confidence in leadership, and good ability to collaborate closely with teaching colleagues and other professionals. Your job duties include, among other things: • plan and implement teaching based on students' individual needs, conditions, and daily form • create structure, clarity, and predictability in students' school day • actively work with low-affect approaches, relationship building, and adaptations to prevent stress, conflicts, and difficult situations • manage situations where students may become strongly outwardly acting out and where physically challenging behaviors sometimes occur • together with colleagues are responsible for creating security, study peace, and a functioning learning environment even in situations that can change quickly • collaborate closely with guardians, student health services, school management, and when needed external actors • document, follow up, and develop working methods around students' learning, well-being, and school attendance QUALIFICATIONS Formal competencies • Teacher education F-3 with corresponding teacher certification • Experience working with students with large needs for special support, preferably in an adapted learning environment, special education group, or similar operation. Personal competencies We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues, student health services, guardians, and other professionals around the student. You are empathetic, service-oriented, and have pedagogical insight, which enables you to meet students based on their different needs and conditions, and adapt teaching and approach accordingly. You are clear in your leadership and create structure, security, and predictability in a learning environment where this is crucial. We are looking for you who are flexible and can adapt your working methods based on students' daily form and situations that arise during the school day. You are stable, persistent, and have personal maturity, which means you can remain calm, exercise judgment, and maintain a professional approach even in challenging situations. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Form of employment: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: By agreement, end date: 2027-06-17.
