We at Ilandaskolan are now seeking a mathematics teacher for grades 7-9 who wants to play an important role in students' development and have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Ilandaskolan is a secondary school and adapted primary school with approximately 540 students from grades 7 to 9. The school is located by Ilandatjärn with proximity to Stodeneskogen and Hertzöga IP. At our school, students and staff are organized into four teams, one for each grade level and one for the adapted primary school. We dedicate considerable time and effort to making the school pleasant and stimulating for everyone. We focus on preventive and promotional student well-being work. Ilandaskolan | Karlstad Municipality Job Responsibilities As a teacher in grades 7-9, your main task is to develop students' knowledge and skills based on the curriculum and each student's individual needs and conditions. You plan instruction by establishing objectives, selecting methods and materials, and preparing lessons. Together with students, you evaluate the instruction to continuously strive to improve teaching, student learning, and your professional development. Qualifications We are looking for you with teacher certification and competence in mathematics for grades 7-9. You have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and well-developed didactic and pedagogical abilities. In your work, you are both independent and structured, and you lead instruction in a clear manner to create safety, study peace, and a positive learning environment. You are flexible in your approach and adapt instruction to students' needs. With your social skills and strong collaboration abilities, you contribute to good cooperation with colleagues, while maintaining a relationship-building approach in interactions with students and guardians. In the classroom, you exercise clear and safe leadership and have well-developed leadership abilities. You have strong teaching competence in the subject and are driven by a commitment to develop both your own instruction and the overall operations.
