Our students take language introduction or individual alternative courses. The students have experienced challenging school situations in compulsory school; they may be newly arrived and have significant need for support in both their instruction and daily life. All students study basic school subjects, and the programs are adapted to each student's circumstances and needs. This means that the students you teach, lesson content, and the level of instruction varies and can change frequently. Work in the introduction programs is built on close collaboration between teachers and other school staff. As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and values-based education based on the curriculum. You collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and student support teams to achieve higher learning outcomes, create security, and increase motivation for each student. You meet the student group where they are and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. Your workplace Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. It houses upper secondary classes, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school includes science and technology programs as well as an introduction program with a focus on language introduction and individual alternatives. In total, there are approximately 1,900 students, of which just over 1,000 are in upper secondary education, and approximately 330 employees at the school. The introduction program operates both at Berzeliusskolan and in two other nearby buildings. You may therefore work in several buildings and meet different target groups within the introduction program. At Berzeliusskolan, we work together and strive for an atmosphere that welcomes everyone. About you First and foremost, we are looking for someone with teaching certification and qualifications to teach math in grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It is a merit if you are qualified to teach one or more science subjects in grades 7-9, or other subjects in grades 7-9 based on the school's needs. It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is also a requirement that you have a Class B driver's license. It is a merit if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also a merit if you have experience with students in need of special support or experience teaching in the introduction program, in special instruction groups, or in resource schools. In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speaking and writing in Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out your work so that students receive support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to the students and let them participate in shaping the instruction.
