Your Tasks As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and values-based education according to the curriculum. As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others in the school to achieve higher goal attainment and create the best conditions for each student. You work from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous times. To support student learning, as well as your own and the school's development, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of various professionals. This position involves teaching mathematics and all science subjects in grades 7-9, as well as serving as a mentor. You will be a mentor for a class together with a colleague. Mentorship is an important part of your role where you are expected to work closely with students to create functioning groups and promote student attendance. Your Workplace Arenaskolan is a sports school located at Bilbörsen Arena. The school has profiles in football, hockey, figure skating, swimming, dance, and multisport. Today, approximately 550 students attend Arenaskolan, and we have about 80 employees. Arenaskolan's overarching goals are maximum learning, equity, engagement, and enthusiasm. So teachers can focus on instruction and planning, support functions at the school assist with other tasks, for example, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout the school day. About You First, we seek someone with teacher certification with authorization to teach mathematics and one or more science subjects in grades 7-9. Second, we seek someone with completed teacher training for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your teacher training for grades 7-9. It is meritorious if you are authorized to teach all science subjects. It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have experience with students with special needs or have taught in lower or middle grades. It is also meritorious if you have experience with successful classroom leadership. In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and conduct the work so students are supported in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As a teacher, you are a good role model and motivate students by creating engagement and participation. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning, and document it. You work well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society relevant to your professional role. You adapt easily to changing needs.
