Welcome to us! At Sånghusvallens F-6 School in Ås, approximately 200 students attend. We work in close collaboration to create comprehensive solutions for our students. The Department of Children and Education has approximately 800 employees. The department's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school grades F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, food and facilities management, mother tongue education, and library services. A day as a teacher at Sånghusvallens Primary School As a Grade 2 teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on the curriculum and students' needs. You work in a team where collaboration and shared responsibility for student learning are central. You play an important role in creating structure, safety, and a conducive study environment in the classroom, as well as in building strong relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You become part of a dedicated team where the exchange of experiences and collegial learning are a natural part of everyday work. You will work closely with colleagues in both school and after-school care to create a cohesive school day experience for students. Meeting students with high expectations, clarity, and warmth is an integral part of the assignment. The role also includes actively participating in the school's development work, which focuses on language and knowledge-development teaching methods, collegial learning, and creating accessible learning environments. Your qualifications The following must be present: You hold teacher certification with authorization to teach grades F–3. You are well familiar with the school's governing documents and have the ability to implement them in your teaching. You have a strong ability to create structure, clarity, and safety in the classroom. You build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and have a professional approach to your assignment. You have good collaboration skills and see the team as a resource in your work. The following is desirable: Experience teaching in the lower grades is an advantage. Experience with language and knowledge-development teaching methods as well as early literacy initiatives is an advantage. Knowledge of accommodations and working with students in need of special support is an advantage. Other: We place great importance on your personal qualities. Additional information The position is a full-time substitute position covering a parental leave with a start date of 2026-11-02 or by agreement, extending through 2027-06-18.
