Description Ånässkolan is a grades F–6 school with approximately 500 students, located in a beautiful and historic building that has been adapted for a modern school environment. The school is situated near Redbergsplatsen with excellent public transportation and has a park directly adjacent – a natural resource for learning, play, and movement. For the 2025/2026 school year, we also have a brand new green schoolyard that invites play and provides excellent conditions for both meaningful recess and stimulating afternoons in our after-school program. We work to help every student develop into an independent individual, both socially and academically. Our goal is to give all students the best possible conditions for lifelong learning. Responsibilities We are now seeking a teaching assistant who will work in the school's special education group (SU-group). Here you will meet students who need instruction and support in a smaller setting with a high degree of structure, clarity, and adult presence for all or part of their school day. As a teaching assistant, you play an important role in creating security, predictability, and good conditions for students' learning and development. You work closely with students throughout the day, both during school hours and in the after-school program, providing support in instruction, during transitions, at recess, and in other situations where students need support and guidance. Support is tailored to each student's individual needs and can range from clarifying instructions and creating structure to supporting students in social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation. You work closely with responsible teachers and other professionals around the students. Together you plan, implement, and follow up on the adaptations, strategies, and support measures that students need to succeed in their school day. An important part of your role is contributing to continuity and a shared approach with the students. The work requires that you remain calm and stable even in situations that can change quickly. You need to be able to read situations, prevent difficulties from arising, and adapt both your approach and expectations based on each student's circumstances. You work with low-affect and relationship-building methods while being clear and consistent. Your responsibilities may also include supporting students in instruction or activities with other student groups at the school. In this way, you help create as inclusive and cohesive a school day as possible based on each student's needs and circumstances. What We Offer Close collaboration with teachers, special education functions, and student welfare services A varied and meaningful role where you make a concrete difference in students' school days Opportunity to work closely with students and build long-term, secure relationships A workplace where we together develop working methods and learning environments based on students' needs Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Experience working with children and students in primary school Experience working with students in need of special support Experience working in a special education group or similar setting Knowledge of and experience with neuropsychiatric conditions (NPF) Experience with clarifying pedagogy and low-affect approaches Ability to adapt support, communication, and approach based on each student's individual needs Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, special education functions, student welfare services, and other professionals Ability to build secure and trusting relationships with students and guardians Very strong Swedish language skills, both verbal and written As a person, you are secure, stable, and relationship-oriented. You have patience and the ability to remain calm even when situations become challenging. You understand that students' behaviors can express different needs and try to understand what lies behind a situation so you can provide the right support. Work in a special education group is based on close teamwork. Therefore, you need to be unpretentious, communicative, and open to reflecting on and developing working methods together with colleagues. You share your observations and experiences and actively contribute to creating a shared understanding and common approach with the students. We welcome your application!
