ABOUT US Gothenburg City Mission's Food Central is a warehouse and logistics operation that receives large volumes of food that would otherwise be discarded. The food is donated mainly from the food industry, due to short expiration dates, discontinued items, damaged packaging, or mislabeling. We then distribute the food to people living in social and economic vulnerability, as well as to our own operations where we prepare hundreds of meals every day. At Food Central, we also offer work training for people outside the job market. Participants here have the opportunity to gain work experience in a warehouse environment and gain experience with tasks that match today's labor market needs. We save approximately 500 tons of food annually and have about 20-25 participants in training with us. ABOUT THE POSITION Do you want to make a difference for both people and the environment? Then this could be the role for you. We at Food Central are now looking for a committed employee in warehouse and transport to join our team in Mölndal. In this role, you will be responsible for varied tasks within warehouse operations. You receive and inspect deliveries, unpack and sort goods, pick and pack orders, prepare shipments, conduct inventories, and help keep the warehouse organized and clean. Since we handle dry goods, refrigerated, and frozen products, we work daily in different temperature zones. The position consists mainly of warehouse work, but also includes forklift operation and collection and delivery of goods using a light truck. Therefore, both a forklift license and a Class B driver's license are required, as well as experience driving. We use a digital warehouse management system to receive orders and register incoming and outgoing goods. You need to feel comfortable working in digital systems. Since the work also involves reading instructions, handling orders, and communicating with colleagues, you need to have good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. An important part of the role is also to mentor and work together with people in our training program. You will introduce, support, and encourage participants in their daily tasks and contribute to an inclusive and developmental work environment. WHO ARE YOU? Have good communication skills and express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish. Are positive, unpretentious, and enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds and experiences. Have basic digital competence and feel comfortable working in different IT systems. It is a merit if you have experience with: Warehouse work, including packing and picking. Work in a grocery store or other food handling experience. Transport and logistics. Digital warehouse and/or retail systems. Mentoring, introducing, or training others. Position Requirements At least one year of experience working in warehouse, food, and/or transport Class B driver's license and experience driving a light truck. Forklift license and experience operating a forklift.
