Would you like to lead the development of our new laboratory in Borgunda? Skaraborgsvatten is now seeking an experienced and independent laboratory manager who wants to start up and operate our new drinking water analysis facility. Skaraborgsvatten is a municipal federation that produces drinking water for residents in our three member municipalities: Skövde, Skara, and Falköping. To meet our operational needs, we have built a brand new, modern laboratory in Borgunda (strategically located between Skövde and Falköping). As laboratory manager, you will have overall responsibility for starting up operations from the ground level and establishing daily routines. Our primary focus is on microbiological parameters, but we also perform some chemical analyses. Our long-term goal is to accredit the laboratory for our most common parameters so that we can handle the majority of analyses in-house. This position requires that you thrive with significant responsibility and can work completely independently. 1 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES Your main responsibilities will be to: • plan, start up, and structure work in the newly built laboratory in Borgunda. • perform daily microbiological and chemical drinking water analyses. • oversee method development, calibration, and instrument maintenance. • lead and drive the process toward future accreditation according to ISO:17025 for the most common parameters. • document results and ensure compliance with applicable laws and drinking water requirements. • handle sampling in the field as needed. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • relevant education in microbiology, chemistry, or equivalent laboratory training, or alternatively work experience deemed equivalent. • documented previous experience working in a laboratory, preferably in water analysis. • experience with microbiological analysis methods and basic chemical analyses. • good knowledge of quality work and the accreditation process. • strong knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. • a B-level driver's license.
