City and countryside in perfect harmony! Falköping is just the right size and full of exciting opportunities for both urban life and nature. A large part of the parish is countryside with many wonderful small medieval churches and active congregation members. The city has good rail connections to several larger cities, and many young people choose to settle here with their families while commuting to work in Gothenburg, Jönköping, or Skövde. The city's main church, S:t Olof, has been recently renovated and is located in the heart of a city center that is currently experiencing significant development. The city has a vibrant musical life with an active music school and several independent orchestras and choirs. Falköping Parish is characterized by a down-to-earth theology where we focus on sharing the Gospel. We place great emphasis on environmental and climate issues, work with the Rainbow Key, and an inclusive approach. The musician position is based at Church House, located in central Falköping, and works together with other parish staff throughout the entire parish. The Position We are seeking a church musician who appreciates the Church of Sweden as a people's church and has the ability to encourage a broad musical life and inspire the wider congregation in their faith. The position involves traditional church music duties including liturgical services, worship services, choirs, and participation in children's and youth activities. Within congregational care, we work in a shared team of four groups. This position will initially be part of the Worship group. The position is based in the city center, but all musicians serve the parish as a whole. Musicians typically work every other weekend. Our five congregations appreciate straightforward, simple, and popular musical language and wish to celebrate both worship services and mass.
