About the Unit The 162nd Air Base Battalion is one of the Swedish Armed Forces and Air Force's combat units. The battalion is based in Uppsala with the main task of enabling aircraft to take off and land on our runways, and to protect and defend the air base and our operations. The 162nd Air Base Battalion is active 24/7, every day of the year with active operations for Sweden and NATO's defense. The 1621st Air Base Company, part of the 162nd Air Base Battalion, forms the foundation of base capabilities with the task of ensuring airport operations. The Company handles field maintenance services, rescue services, and maintenance of technical systems at the airport. We are also responsible for aircraft clearance services for fighter jets as well as ramp services for transport aircraft and helicopters. The Company also has air terminal capability, which is a strategic resource in the Swedish Armed Forces. The 1621st Air Base Company is undergoing a transformative phase and we are seeking you to help develop our company. Main Responsibilities The Company is now seeking a Quartermaster who primarily leads and plans the Company's material services, supply, transport services, and infrastructure. You will supervise personnel in the Company's logistics function and during certain periods lead platoons regarding care, recovery, transport, and material services. You will support the Company Commander with decision-making documentation on matters concerning defense logistics and economics. You will support and train the Company's commanders and personnel, as well as conscripts, within your areas of responsibility. You will serve as the Company's material officer and ensure compliance with regulations concerning flammable and explosive substances. As Quartermaster, you will also participate in the Company's internal combat unit development, annual combat unit evaluations, unit development planning, and support Company leadership in developing the Company. Planning, follow-up, and coordination of activities and orders. Represent the 1621st Air Base Company at battalion level and in various working groups. Cooperation within the unit as well as with external actors. Prepare decision-making documentation for higher command.
