About the Role As a Quality Assurance Manager (QAa), you're responsible for developing and supporting quality work within the laboratory operation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. The role combines quality assurance with microbiology specialist expertise and involves close collaboration with the laboratory manager, quality functions, technical managers, and laboratory staff. You'll be a resource for quality matters, contribute technical expertise, and drive improvement initiatives that strengthen both quality and efficiency in the operation. Your Main Responsibilities Quality Assurance Develop and support local quality work according to SGS quality management system and ISO/IEC 17025. Provide advisory support on quality-related matters within the laboratory operation. Ensure that quality documentation and local procedures are current and fit for purpose. Plan and participate in internal audits, accreditation assessments, and customer audits. Manage deviations, conduct root cause analyses, and follow up on corrective actions. Participate in verification, validation, method changes, measurement uncertainty, and quality controls. Evaluate proficiency testing, reference materials, and quality results. Contribute to training and competency development in quality and laboratory operations. Microbiology Specialist Serve as the operation's microbiology specialist and support techniques such as PCR, ELISA, cultures, readings, and confirmations. Share knowledge through training, mentoring, and support to colleagues. Who Are You? We're looking for someone with a strong interest in quality and laboratory operations who enjoys combining an analytical approach with close collaboration with colleagues. We're looking for someone who has: Academic training in microbiology, biomedical science, or equivalent. Experience from a microbiology laboratory. Experience with quality work in laboratory operations. Good knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and experience working in accredited operations. Strong skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It's an advantage if you have experience with: Quality management systems and improvement work. Audits, deviation management, and root cause analyses. Verification, validation, and method development. Microbiological methods such as PCR and ELISA. Laboratory operations in food, water, or similar fields.
