Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings is a leader in the sales and manufacturing of paint and coatings for industrial surface treatment of wood products such as windows, doors, flooring, and furniture. Some of the customers are IKEA, Montana, Kährs, and Tarkett. The other company, Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings, develops, manufactures, distributes, and sells paint, varnish, filler, and wood protection products to professional painters and consumers. The portfolio includes the well-known brands Nordsjö, Sadolin, and Cuprinol. At the site, 560 dedicated employees work to meet our customers' needs for high-quality products and services. What will you be working with? As Complaint Coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating and driving the handling of customer complaints for our Wood Coatings customers throughout EMEA. Malmö is our primary production facility for Industrial Coatings Wood, which gives this position an important function in the relationship between customers and operations. You follow each case from registration and prioritization to closure and ensure that investigations are conducted in a structured manner within agreed timeframes. The work involves collecting and analyzing information, reviewing documentation, and working with relevant functions to determine root causes. Based on the results, you coordinate corrective and preventive actions, follow up on their completion, and evaluate whether they have had the intended effect. In this role, you collaborate broadly with Quality, R&D, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. You also contribute technical and quality-related information to customer communication and present findings, action plans, and status to relevant stakeholders. Your main responsibilities are to: • Register, prioritize, and coordinate incoming customer complaints • Conduct root cause analyses by collecting facts, reviewing documentation, and involving the right expertise • Coordinate and follow up on corrective and preventive actions, CAPA • Analyze trends and recurring deviations to identify long-term improvement opportunities • Compile key figures and reports for management • Participate in audits, quality meetings, and operational reviews • Ensure that work is conducted in accordance with internal procedures and applicable quality management systems This is a full-time position and you will be based at our site just outside Malmö. You report to the Site Quality Manager Paint, Coatings and Resin. Who are you? We are looking for someone with experience in complaint handling, quality assurance, deviation investigations, or CAPA work in the manufacturing industry. You have a good understanding of root cause analysis methods and continuous improvement work, and you are accustomed to working according to established quality management systems, such as ISO 9001. An academic degree in quality, natural sciences, engineering, economics, or a related field is a merit. To succeed, you need to be able to create structure in complex issues while driving multiple activities forward across different departments. You are analytical and solution-oriented, have an eye for detail, and can transform large amounts of information into clear conclusions and concrete next steps. Since this position involves many contact points, you also need to be communicative and confident in explaining results, creating consensus, and getting others to contribute toward a common goal.
