Your New Position As a school counselor, you work to promote health, prevent problems, and take action to strengthen students' mental health, sense of security, and social development. You are part of the school's student wellness team and contribute with a psychosocial perspective in creating conditions for students' learning, well-being, and development. You are a natural conversation partner for students, guardians, and staff, and you collaborate with both internal and external partners. Your responsibilities include providing conversational support to students, conducting social assessments, consulting with staff and guardians, and participating in the school's health promotion, prevention, and values-based work. You also contribute to the school's systematic quality improvement efforts and collaborate as needed with, for example, social services and child and adolescent mental health services. An important part of the position is leading the school's safety group, where you and other members drive and develop work against discrimination, harassment, and abusive treatment. You coordinate safety-promoting initiatives, follow up on cases, and help ensure that the school's safety work is conducted systematically and long-term. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Experience working as a school counselor is a merit. In the role of school counselor, you are the school's specialist in social work and social legislation, with in-depth knowledge of psychosocial factors and their importance for students' health, learning, and development. You have competence in conversation methods and cross-professional collaboration, as well as good knowledge of society's welfare system and children's and young people's living conditions. To succeed in this position, you need strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, as well as basic IT skills. We are looking for someone who is confident in your profession, has good collaboration skills, and genuine commitment to children's and young people's development and well-being.
