The Orthopedic Clinic at University Hospital Linköping is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics and Cancer Care (CKOC) within Region Östergötland. The clinic consists of a care unit with a teaching division, an outpatient clinic, and a rehabilitation unit where both acute and planned orthopedic patients are treated. In addition to general orthopedics, the clinic's specialist areas include pediatric orthopedics, upper and lower extremity surgery, spine surgery, and tumor surgery, with responsibility for patients from the entire Southeastern Healthcare Region. Job Description We are seeking a social worker who will be part of our multidisciplinary teams. We work with various patient groups and their families. As a social worker with us, your responsibilities include providing psychosocial specialist expertise through crisis counseling, supportive counseling, psychosocial advice, and interventions based on patient needs. The work involves collaborating with our inpatient unit as well as outpatient clinics. The position involves cooperation with many different internal and external stakeholders. You will be part of the social worker network for CKOC and receive organized external supervision. As an employee of the orthopedic clinic's rehabilitation unit, you are expected to participate in teamwork, operations development, and networking. Work Group On the rehabilitation unit, a social worker works with seven occupational therapists, eleven physical therapists, and one research coordinator. Our mission includes working in teams and sections with other professionals in various areas such as general orthopedics, spine, pediatric orthopedics, and tumors. We provide rehabilitation within highly specialized healthcare, conduct research and development, and are responsible for clinical education of students. About You We are seeking candidates with a degree in social work, licensed healthcare social worker credentials, and/or equivalent qualifications as assessed by the employer. If you are a licensed healthcare social worker, that is highly valued. You should have previous experience in conversations with people in crisis and, as a social worker, should have knowledge of and practical experience with difficult conversations, both with patients and family members. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and knowledge of social and health insurance systems are essential. You must have the knowledge and ability to collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders. As a person, you are secure and stable, and can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You adapt easily to changing circumstances. You are responsible with good initiative, have a strong ability to relate your expertise in relation to other professions, and can thereby take your place in teamwork around patient and family.
