We are seeking a counselor to work in the orthopedic acute and trauma department and at the hand surgery clinic. The department provides care for patients following orthopedic surgery or trauma. Many patients with complex injuries from, for example, accidents are cared for in the department either immediately after the injury or following a period of intensive care or care within another specialist area.
You will be employed within the Health Professions operational area, where we work in close collaboration with other professions. Job Responsibilities
As a counselor with us, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team with the goal of providing quality and effective care for our patients. The primary responsibilities include offering acute psychosocial and practical support to orthopedic and hand surgery patients. You provide safe and professional interactions with patients and their families.
Qualifications
Social work degree. We would appreciate if you are a licensed healthcare counselor or have previous experience with social work within healthcare. You have good organizational and planning skills and can handle stress well. We value personal suitability highly and good teamwork abilities.
It is important to us that you find it easy to create good interactions both with patients and colleagues on the team. Since the operational area is newly established, routines and collaboration methods are continuing to evolve, and you should be comfortable being part of development and change work.

About the Operation
The Health Professions operational area is a newly established county clinic. The operational area employs speech-language pathologists, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, counselors, psychologists, nursing assistants, and administrators. The position is placed in the counselor unit, which is one of several units within the new operational area.
