Ref: 20262024 Job Responsibilities We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our organization and contribute with your expertise, commitment, and perspective. As a school counselor, you will be part of the school's student well-being team and work closely with students, guardians, teachers, school leadership, and other professionals within student well-being. You will contribute with your psychosocial expertise in the school's promotion, prevention, and intervention work and have special responsibility for students in need of support from a social and psychosocial perspective. You work at individual, group, and organizational levels and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment. You also have an active role in the school's development and quality work. An important part of your role is to be present and visible in the school's daily life. By being close to the students, you build trusting relationships and get the opportunity to early identify needs and factors in the school environment that affect students' health, learning, and development. At the individual level, you meet students who need support with, for example, social interaction, motivation, relationships, or school situation. The role also includes investigating incidents of harassment, writing reports of concern and referrals, and conducting social assessments for adapted elementary education. You work closely with students' guardians and collaborate with teachers and other school staff on interventions that strengthen safety, motivation, social development, and conditions for learning. You follow up and evaluate the interventions and contribute to developing the school's promotion and prevention work. At the organizational level, you are driving the school's systematic quality work regarding students' safety, well-being, health, and learning. You lead student councils and safety walks, contribute to the school's non-discrimination plan, and assist school staff through consultation and advice from a psychosocial perspective. When needed, you contact external actors and authorities to create good conditions for interventions and collaboration regarding students. In your work, you approach from a solution-focused and evidence-based perspective. You stay updated on relevant research and current legislation and use your professional knowledge to understand the student's individual needs and environmental factors that affect the student's school situation. Qualifications You have a degree as a social worker and at least two years of experience working with children and youth. Experience in psychosocial work and collaboration with different professions is also a requirement. Experience working as a school counselor is advantageous, as is experience working at individual, group, and organizational levels and preventive and promotional work with children and youth. You have good insight into the school's goals and governing documents and knowledge of other departments and, for example, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), as well as practices and guidelines within the field. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and be able to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You need to be able to work independently, make professional assessments, and structure your work based on the organization's and students' needs. It is important that you have a solution-focused approach and the ability to see opportunities for change and development. You also need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. We look forward to your application!
