About the Support and Services Unit – Children and Young People The unit is a central part of the department for individual and family care in Värmdö Municipality. We work to strengthen and support children and young people through several activities: Mini Maria, Youth Clinic, Parental Support Hamnen, Family Team, Social Services Group (SIG), SSPF, and Field Work. Together, we build a safe and supportive network for young people and their families. About Mini Maria Mini Maria Värmdö is a collaborative clinic between the municipality and the region. The staff consists of a curator from Värmdö Municipality and a nurse from Maria Youth. Our target group is young people and young adults up to 23 years old with issues related to alcohol, drugs, or gambling. Parents and relatives are also offered support. Your Assignment As a counselor at Mini Maria, you will be an important resource for both young people and their families. You will, among other things: conduct assessments and treatments regarding alcohol, drugs, and gambling, work preventively and supportively to reduce relapse, offer advice and information to both young people and relatives, play a central role in prevention work by meeting school students and giving lectures on alcohol, drugs, and gambling addiction, collaborate with other activities within and outside social services to create comprehensive interventions. Your Experience We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has other relevant higher education. You have experience with structured treatment work with young people in substance abuse and/or criminal activity, and you are comfortable working with MI and/or other treatment methods, such as ACRA, CRAFT, HAP/CPU. It is a merit if you have: Basic psychotherapy training, training in motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, ACRA, CRAFT, gambling addiction treatment, or other evidence-based methods, experience with parental support or family treatment. Your Personal Qualities Personal Maturity You are confident in yourself and your professional role and have the ability to meet young people and their networks with respect, attentiveness, and good judgment. You can handle complex situations and difficult conversations professionally and maintain calm and focus even when work demands high levels of flexibility and adaptability. Self-Directed You take responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up on treatment and support interventions. You work independently, take initiative, and drive processes forward while ensuring that interventions are based on the young person's needs and the activities' goals. Collaboration Skills You find it easy to create trusting relationships with young people and guardians and have good ability to collaborate with colleagues and external actors such as schools, social services, and healthcare. You see collaboration as a prerequisite for creating sustainable solutions and contributing to the best possible support for the young person. Structured You plan and organize your work efficiently and have the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. You work systematically with documentation, follow-up, and coordination of interventions and ensure that the work maintains high quality and is conducted in a legally secure manner.
