You will be part of the centrally organized student welfare team that includes counselors, special educators, school nurses, school physicians, and psychologists. Our shared mission is to work in a health-promoting and preventive manner. The goal is for all students at school to feel good, have excellent conditions to gain knowledge, develop, and find the desire to learn. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a counselor, you collaborate with school nurses, special educators, psychologists, principals, and other school staff as well as external partners. The work as a counselor should primarily be health-promoting and preventive. Sunnerbo Gymnasium actively works on drug prevention efforts, and you will become part of this work. The work includes: contributing to creating good learning environments, providing guidance and consultation to staff and parents on school social issues, conducting social investigations, supportive conversations with students, working at the group level in classrooms, motivational conversations, crisis counseling, and conflict management. Work as a counselor takes place at the individual, group, and organizational level. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent higher education. Previous experience working in schools and/or with young people is a merit. You need good knowledge of the Social Services Act. You should be able to work independently in your profession, you find it easy to collaborate with students, parents, and other staff within and outside our operations. You should be able and willing to lead a group of students in, for example, values-based work. You have good social skills, are flexible and engaged, with an interest in developing a school for all children/young people through preventive and health-promoting work. A driver's license and access to a car are required. The Children and Education Board wants to take advantage of the qualities that an equal gender distribution, ethnic and cultural diversity bring to the operations. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: The position is a full-time temporary assignment from December 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, with possible extension.
