Description Kvinnohuset Tranan in Skövde is an idea-driven organization that actively works to prevent all forms of violence. Kvinnohuset Tranan is part of the national association Unizon and together we strive towards the vision of "An equal society free from violence" and the idea of all people's high and equal value – about women's and men's equality and equal rights to live in dignity and freedom (regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity and/or religion). Kvinnohuset Tranan is a dynamic and stimulating workplace consisting of a board, 10 employees and 15 volunteers. Kvinnohuset Tranan operates shelter housing with a permit from IVO for women and children who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing violence, as well as open counseling services. The organization also conducts violence prevention work through a norm-critical power and gender perspective with the aim of ending violence, works to increase knowledge about and cooperation regarding men's violence against women in general and violence in close relationships in particular, and conducts advocacy activities and creates debate on these issues. Job Responsibilities In the shelter housing we meet women and children who have experienced violence in various ways and are often in an acute crisis situation. In your role as child counselor in the shelter housing, you have overall responsibility for coordinating services for the placed children. You work closely with the counselor responsible for the placed woman/mother. Creating a pleasant and safe environment for the children and giving them the opportunity to process their experiences is the most important part of your work as a child counselor, as well as functioning as a link between mother and child and offering parental support services. Examples of work tasks as a child counselor: - Support in the form of conversations, recreation and stabilizing activities. - Support with practical needs regarding protection and safety, housing, psychosocial support during contact with authorities regarding the child, etc. - Support in legal processes regarding criminal cases/child welfare issues, custody, housing and visitation, etc. - Cooperation with actors such as social services, health care and school/preschool, etc. - Ongoing safety conversations, individual safety planning and threat and risk assessments At the beginning of placement, an implementation plan is established with the overall objective of offering protection from continued violence, processing of experienced violence, support in the current situation and future orientation towards a life free from violence. About You We are looking for you who are confident and self-directed in your professional role. You have the ability to create structure in your work and can make well-grounded priorities based on the organization's needs. As a person you are communicative, attentive and engaged. You build trusting relationships with both children, guardians, colleagues and cooperation partners through respectful and professional conduct. You have good collaboration skills while being comfortable working independently and taking your own responsibility. Qualifications We are looking for you who have a social worker degree or other equivalent behavioral science education meeting IVO requirements, preferably with previous experience working with children in vulnerable situations. Work within social services with children and young people is meriting. You naturally share our values (www.unizon.se) and have a commitment to work both supportively and preventively with our issues. Personal suitability and good collaboration skills are highly valued by us. Ethnic diversity is an important perspective in our recruitment work. A driver's license is a requirement.
