School Counselor
In your role as a school counselor, you will be an important part of the school's student support team. As a school counselor, you will contribute psychosocial expertise to increase the conditions for students to achieve their goals.
Duties
- Conduct student conversations such as support, conflict, and crisis conversations, and conduct exploratory conversations with students, in groups or individually.
- Participate in student meetings and meetings with the student support team.
- Be responsible for coordination in reports to social services and police, as well as follow-up on these matters.
- Be responsible for your own documentation, including action plans and school social assessments.
- Guide students in groups and individually on matters concerning group dynamics and addressing the student's environment.
- Serve as support and provide guidance in complex student matters.
- Close collaboration with other members of the student support team on preventive and promotion work.
- Contribute knowledge about society's resources and support systems as well as contact with these.
- Lead the school's safety and security work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work with previous experience in social work with children and youth, preferably within social services. School counselor work requires the ability to handle multiple different perspectives, as school social work must protect and highlight the importance of structural, organizational, and relational perspectives. It is required that you as a school counselor take independent responsibility for your own professional work and actively collaborate with colleagues.
