Kungälv-Ytterby Parish comprises the central parts of Kungälv municipality, just north of Gothenburg. The parish is home to approximately 27,000 residents, of whom just over 15,000 are church members. The parish has approximately 50 employees, with work conducted across four district churches with different expressions and at the Hospital Church. The Cemetery Administration manages six cemeteries. Pastoral Program The parish's calling is to let the work bear fruit for God's kingdom and to be dependent on the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit. The four district churches are responsible for carrying out the fundamental mission. The churches should not be uniform; rather, they should have the freedom to shape their activities in dialogue with the vicar, based on their own conditions, possibilities, limitations, and history. The different churches complement one another, providing the parish as a whole with good breadth in terms of worship life and activities. This is made possible through a culture of collaboration and generosity among the churches. The heart of parish life is the Sunday service. It should be characterized by faithfulness to God's word, liturgical and musical richness, and the participation and engagement of many. We Are Looking for Someone Who - Is grounded in the belief that all work in the parish is ultimately God's work and wants to be dependent on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, follow Jesus, and remain faithful to God's word. - Has documented experience of leadership. - Is secure in the Swedish Church's faith, confession, and practices, and has the ability to serve as a leader in the parish with the district churches' different traditions and forms of expression. - Is a clear and structured leader with a strong ability to delegate, inspire, and encourage. - Is an independent and modern leader who finds security and inspiration in collaboration with the church council and other elected representatives. - Has good knowledge and commitment regarding administration, personnel, finance, property management, funeral services, and funeral law. - Wants to build on the good that already exists while being visionary and developing new ways to be a church in a changing world. - Wants to create conditions for meaningful encounters with people in their daily lives. - Encourages and promotes volunteer engagement.
