The Music School in Strömsunds Municipality is now seeking an engaged and creative music educator with guitar as your primary instrument. You will teach children and young people ages 7 to 19 and be an important part of our mission to create enthusiasm, curiosity, and musical joy.
Strömsunds Municipality's Music School currently has seven teachers and approximately 420 students in subject courses, as well as music play activities. We currently offer instruction on various instruments, voice, animation, music production, and dance. Together with our students, we are part of the municipality's cultural activities and offer our residents joy and a richer cultural life.
The municipality's geographic size means that the position involves considerable travel by car.

DUTIES
We are primarily looking for someone with a modern pop and rock profile. In addition to guitar, we would like to see that you also have knowledge of secondary instruments, where bass and/or drums are particularly valuable.
Your work will include:
• Planning and conducting your instruction independently.
• Being able to meet students with different backgrounds and different circumstances.
• Leading, motivating, and instructing students in guitar and possibly other instruments.
• Planning and implementing various projects and activities in the Music School's name, both independently and together with other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• Education in music or music education with guitar as your primary instrument, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Knowledge of secondary instruments, where bass/drums are particularly valuable.
• Good knowledge of modern music with a focus on pop and rock.
• You master both traditional sheet music notation and tablature and can use these in your instruction.
• Good computer skills.
We are looking for someone who can:
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate instruction independently.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
• Motivate, lead, and develop students with different backgrounds and circumstances.
• Teach and perform music in multiple genres, with particular focus on modern pop and rock music.
• Participate in and contribute to concerts, projects, and other arrangements within the Music School's activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues, guardians, and other stakeholders to develop the activities.
We value educators who combine creativity and curiosity with structure and clarity in their teaching. For this position, you need a Class B Driver's License and access to your own car.
