Do you want to be part of creating the future meeting place for young people in Vänersborg? The Culture and Leisure Administration in Vänersborg Municipality is now seeking two engaged and creative cultural coordinators for young people's open meeting places – where young people's ideas, creativity, and influence are at the center. The youth activities in the Culture and Leisure Administration are embarking on an exciting development journey. We are building a new meeting place for young people where culture, creativity, and community come together. Our approach is based on research about youth participation and influence, and together with young people we shape the activities based on their needs, interests, and dreams. Now we are seeking two cultural coordinators with slightly different focus areas, or you may have experience in both. What is common for both positions is that you will have the opportunity to inspire young people, create meaningful activities, and contribute to a vibrant cultural life in Vänersborg. About the Assignment The activities at young people's open meeting places are built on voluntary participation and youth influence. Today there are two youth centers and one youth culture activity. Our purpose is to inspire, challenge, and motivate our young people and strengthen their positive development, opportunities for influence, and build their faith in the future. As a cultural coordinator, you create conditions for young people's creativity, engagement, and development. You plan, conduct, and develop activities together with young people and arrange cultural activities and events that engage both participants and the public. In this role, you collaborate with associations, cultural actors, social services, schools, and organizations to develop the activities and create more opportunities for young people to experience, practice, and influence culture. You will be part of a team with several cultural coordinators and youth leaders who together drive and develop young people's open meeting places. Your main workplace will be at the youth culture activity Timjan, which offers inspiring facilities in central Vänersborg with a music studio, creative workshops, and exhibition spaces. Young people's open meeting places is LGBTQI-certified and permeated by inclusion, accessibility, and respect for the equal value of all people. Responsibilities Plan, conduct, and develop cultural and creative activities together with and for young people. Create meeting places that promote participation, influence, and creativity. Arrange cultural activities, events, and public arrangements. Build and develop collaborations with associations, cultural actors, and other activities. Work actively with youth influence and co-creation processes. You will be responsible for and develop our music studio and create activities within, for example, music production, recording, songwriting, DJ activities, and other music-related expressions. You support young people in their creative and social processes and create opportunities for them to develop both individually and together with others. You will be responsible for and develop our creative spaces and conduct activities within, for example, visual arts, crafts, design, and other creative expressions. You inspire young people to develop their ideas and own projects and contribute to making young people's creative work visible through exhibitions and arrangements. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: Post-secondary education in culture, arts, music, pedagogy, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in cultural work, project management, and/or activity development. Good ability to create relationships and build trust with young people. Ability to work independently while enjoying close collaboration with colleagues and external actors. Good communication skills in speech and writing. It is an advantage if you have: Experience working with young people or in youth activities. Experience leading creative processes and cultural activities. Experience with KEKS network (Quality and competence in collaboration) methods and training. Knowledge of the Charter (European principles and guidelines for local open leisure and youth activities). Knowledge in critical examination of norms, gender equality, and participation. Experience in music production, studio work, and digital music tools. Knowledge in technology and social media.
