Job Description As a correctional officer, you can contribute to a safer and more secure society. You work in a team with other professional groups and have the opportunity to help people break the cycle of crime. Working at a detention facility means focusing on care and security and is a job with clear procedures. You will also work with supervision and search operations as well as staff the surveillance center. You need to have a strong interest in security work, as work at the detention facility is based on a preventive dynamic security approach. Qualifications Your personal qualities are important. As a correctional officer, you need to be confident, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. It is important that you share the Correctional Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of people. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You must be able to act physically when required. We are looking for someone who has: Work experience, including in the form of seasonal work, hourly employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
