Job Description The community corrections control and emergency response organization is part of our community corrections operations with the task of managing controls for clients under electronic monitoring and attendance checks for clients sentenced to community service. You will be part of carrying out various forms of controls and other necessary measures in different types of community corrections enforcement, and you will have the opportunity to participate in the continued development of the control organization together with your colleagues. You will work in a team with other correctional officers and collaborate closely with community corrections inspectors, decision support staff, program leaders, and administrators. This means it is important that you thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment. You will also be the community corrections representative in society with various external actors. There is a strong focus on security-enhancing tasks such as access control, which will be implemented in our office, as well as other security-related work duties. The assignment also includes control and supervision tasks such as urine testing and installation of electronic monitoring. Client work is part of the position, and you will participate in client visits both at the community corrections office and in clients' home environments. Other service-related assignments within community corrections operations may be added. As a correctional officer, you work shifts, and the position involves day, evening, and weekend work. Qualifications Your personal qualities are important, and to succeed as a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. You work closely with your colleagues in daily work, which requires good collaboration skills and clear communication. You can plan and prioritize your work and take responsibility for moving your tasks forward. When circumstances change, you have the ability to adapt and maintain calm and professionalism even in challenging situations. The work also involves using various technical systems and having a strong ability to document in client administration systems, which means you need an interest in technology and feel comfortable with digital tools. We are looking for someone who has: Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Work experience, including seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not equivalent to employment Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Good computer skills Category B driving license It is also an advantage to have: Completed correctional officer training Work experience from the correctional service, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and care services Knowledge in relevant areas, for example behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management Experience with electronic monitoring systems and technical equipment (ankle monitor) Completed community corrections alarm coordinator training Relevant language skills To thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's core values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development.
