Are you ready to take the next step in a strategic leadership role? We are now seeking a Chief Credit Officer who wants to take full responsibility for the credit area, contribute to the company's continued development, and play a central role in the management team. About the Role As Chief Credit Officer (CCO), you have overall responsibility for the company's credit risk, credit policies, automated scoring models, and portfolio quality. You ensure that lending is kept within the Board's established risk appetite and that operations comply with the Financial Supervisory Authority's regulations, the Consumer Credit Act, AML, and GDPR. As CCO, you are part of the management team and have a key role in how the company is shaped, operated, and grows. In the current build-up phase, you will initially also have operational leadership responsibility for the combined Operations function in Gothenburg. Here you lead a team that currently handles everything from manual deviations in the credit flow to first-line AML and customer service. As the company and volumes grow, the plan is to spin off the customer service team to a dedicated Head of Operations. This means that over time you can choose to either hand over customer service responsibility and focus your assignment entirely on credit risk, model ownership, strategy, and portfolio development, or continue to develop within Operations and own the entire customer journey. If you are based in the Stockholm office, you are initially expected to be in Gothenburg regularly (approximately 20% of your time) to coach the team on-site and strengthen collaboration. Location: Gothenburg or Stockholm Scope: Full-time (part-time option available) Key Responsibilities Credit Risk & Portfolio Analysis: Continuously analyze portfolio composition, trends, credit losses, and work risk-based to protect the balance sheet and optimize asset quality. Model Ownership & Risk Pricing: Own, maintain, and further develop automated credit decision processes and scoring models, and act to ensure sound and risk-based pricing. Improvement Work: Independently drive improvements in credit and operations where you balance growth, risk, and customer experience. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure responsible lending and deliver regular, high-quality credit risk reporting and analyses to the Board and management. Act as a contact point with the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) and external auditors when needed. Operational Leadership: Lead, coach, and resource plan for the operational team in Gothenburg. Ensure high efficiency in handling system deviations, manual document verification, first-line AML/KYC, and claims management. Customer Experience & Quality Assurance: Take responsibility for operational customer experience, proactively identify friction points in the onboarding flow, and ensure that all customer information is correct, clear, and easy to understand. Your Profile We are looking for someone who is confident in their role and has regulatory maturity with engaged and coaching leadership. You are curious and want to find smart ways of working, and you are driven to make things better. You are thorough and have high integrity, and you enjoy switching between strategic and operational perspectives. You don't need to be a specialist in advanced modeling, but you are expected to have a solid understanding of credit risk calculations, portfolio analysis, and credit assessment models (including IFRS 9 principles). Qualifications • Academic degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or equivalent. • Several years of experience in leading or senior roles in credit risk and lending from banking, fintech, or consumer finance. • Good understanding of Swedish and European consumer credit legislation, responsible lending, and risk and capital protection. • Documented experience in leadership with the ability to lead and build culture. • You are welcome to have experience working with automated credit decision processes and collaboration with tech and product teams. • Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
