The municipality's meal service is responsible for serving nutritious and delicious meals to children, students and the elderly every day. The meal is an important part of welfare and contributes to health, learning, community and quality of life. We are now looking for a Food Service Director who wants to lead and develop Markaryd Municipality's meal service. Your Assignment As Food Service Director, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's meal service. Together with engaged employees, you work to develop a service that offers well-prepared, delicious, nutritious and sustainable meals to preschools, schools and elderly care. You have personnel, operational and budget responsibility for approximately 30 employees distributed across 10 kitchens. Your assignment includes leading, supporting and developing both employees and operations with a focus on cooking, quality, work environment and service. The meal service is part of the Technical Administration and is included together with the cleaning unit in the operational area of Food and Facilities. As Food Service Director, you collaborate with principals, unit managers, suppliers and other partners. You have an important role in the municipality's work for a sustainable and attractive meal service. You work strategically while having an understanding of daily operations. You are solution-oriented, structured and have the ability to see the big picture without losing focus on details. You are good at building strong relationships and enjoy working in an organization where collaboration across operational boundaries is a given and where everyone contributes to the operation's shared development. You have previously worked as a manager with personnel, work environment and budget responsibility and feel confident in your leadership. You are a present leader who has the ability to inspire, develop and create engagement among your employees. You also have good financial understanding and experience in budget work, follow-up and quality development. You have a genuine interest in food, meals and how they contribute to health, learning and quality of life. Experience with cooking in large-scale kitchens gives you a good understanding of the kitchen's daily work and the challenges and opportunities that exist in the operation. Qualifications Education in food science, nutrition, food science or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working as a manager/leader Good knowledge of public meal services, food legislation, special diets, self-inspection, food hygiene, nutrition and sustainable meals Good digital skills in tools for planning, follow-up, communication and analysis Driver's license Meritorious Cooking experience Experience from municipal operations Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
