Within our care services, we work to provide support and services to people with various disabilities. Our mission is to make everyday life easier and create conditions for as independent a life as possible. With the individual at the center, we work based on our values: trust, care, and participation. All children need to feel safe, welcome, and valued. Getting to come to another family, do something fun, discover new things, and simply be part of a community can mean a great deal to a child. At the same time, families who have children or young people with disabilities sometimes need opportunities for rest and relief. As a short-term family, you can therefore become an important and secure part of both the child's and the family's everyday life. Do you have space in your home and time to welcome a child or young person for a few days a month? You don't need previous experience – what matters most is that you have time, commitment, and a genuine desire to make a difference. As a short-term family, you continue with your regular work and your usual daily routines, while giving the child or young person the opportunity for security, community, and new experiences. We are now seeking four short-term families on Gotland! Your assignment as a short-term family: The child will have the opportunity to: - come to a safe and welcoming environment - get a change of environment and new experiences - meet new people and be part of a social community - try activities and create new memories - have time where the focus is simply on being a child or young person Assignment and compensation: Being a short-term family is an assignment and does not constitute employment. For the assignment, you will receive a fee and a reimbursement for expenses to cover costs related to the assignment, such as food and activities. The fee and expense reimbursement follow the guidelines of Sweden's Municipalities and Regions (SKR). Who are you? We are looking for families who enjoy children and young people and who have the time, commitment, and willingness to open their home to a child who needs an additional community. You don't need previous experience as a short-term family. However, it is an advantage if you have experience with children or young people with disabilities. It is also an advantage if someone in the family has education in areas such as child and youth services, care and support, or education. You are a safe, stable, and responsible family who is caring and attentive to the child's needs. You are clear and structured when needed and have an openness and willingness to get to know and understand each child's individual needs. You have a talent for building trust and good relationships and see the value of close and respectful collaboration with the child's family and network. For a potential assignment, you will need to provide two extracts from the Police criminal records register. We review applications on an ongoing basis. Before an assignment can begin, we conduct a family assessment. The assessment is an important part of the process for a potential short-term family assignment and aims to create the best possible conditions for both the child and your family.
