Unit Description
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit for Serious Behavioral Disorders (BUP-ANB) is a new regional unit launching in 2026. The service is based on the government assignment Integrated Care (2021-2024) and provides specialist psychiatric care to community-placed children and young people up to age 21 with serious behavioral disorders and concurrent psychiatric care needs when ordinary outpatient care is insufficient.
The unit will be built with four mobile interprofessional teams consisting of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and administrative staff. Approximately 25 employees will work in the service. The target group is children and young people with complex psychiatric and social comorbidity, often with experience of care breakdown, repeated placements, and serious mental health issues.
The service area covers the entire Västra Götaland Region. Initially, the service focuses on adolescents placed in SiS homes, but placement in HVB homes and within the Prison and Probation Service is also planned. The unit belongs to the operational area Neurology and Psychiatry for Children at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, within the section Child and Adolescent Psychiatric 24-Hour Care and Specialty Clinics. The service is mobile with team-based work in close collaboration between professions.
What We Offer
The target group of serious behavioral disorders is a nationally recognized group with significant political focus. Here you have the opportunity to be part of the Västra Götaland Region's initiative and build a new regional service from the ground up. As part of an interprofessional team, you will be an important part of shaping the unit and you will have the opportunity for flexible planning of your workday. In close and continuous dialogue with colleagues and partners, you will develop working methods, structures, and content in care based on the target group's needs. Here you will have room to contribute your expertise to create integrated and high-quality care for a highly vulnerable segment of society.

As a coordinator in BUP-ANB, you have a central role in coordinating and holding together the care measures around the child or young person. You work closely with both the interprofessional team and external actors.
Your work tasks include:

- Supporting planning for admission and discharge
- Contributing to continuity in the care chain
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant academic education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience working with children and young people in complex life situations, preferably within psychiatry, social services, or institutional care.
You have good collaboration skills and are experienced working in partnership with multiple different actors. You are structured, responsible, and have good interpersonal skills with both patients and partners. We see that you have the ability to work independently while actively contributing to the team's shared work. You are driven by the opportunity to be part of starting and shaping a new regional unit.
It is meriting if you have experience with:
- Coordination and/or a coordinating function
- Working with placed children and young people with complex issues and legislation
- Collaboration between the region and social services
