About the role
As a mechanical design engineer within Engineer-to-Order (ETO), you develop tailor-made products and unique customer solutions, primarily for the mining industry. You are responsible for design work throughout the entire chain – from concept and requirements analysis to finished solution and handover to production, with a focus on quality, safety, and cost.
Safety is an integral part of the role. You integrate EHS into your daily work, follow applicable guidelines, take responsibility for risk assessments, and have the authority to stop work in case of immediate risk.
Your responsibilities
Develop and deliver customer-specific mechanical solutions within ETO projects
Translate requirements, standards, and regulations into sustainable and well-functioning designs
Prepare models, drawings, and technical documentation in CAD/CAE
Plan, conduct, and evaluate tests
Work cross-functionally to drive solutions through to efficient production handover
Location
The position is based in Svedala, where you work close to operations. Travel may occur.
Your profile
You have a higher education in mechanical engineering or mechanical design and are experienced in working with customized deliveries and product development. Experience from mining, construction, or related process industries is important for success in the role.
We would like you to have:
Good understanding of standards, regulations, and customer requirements
Several years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience with CAD/CAE tools
Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish and English
Basic knowledge of project work and cost management
You work in a structured and analytical manner, while being solution-oriented and collaborative. With a business-minded approach, high integrity, and the ability to see both details and the bigger picture, you thrive in complex projects where responsibility, safety, and quality are paramount.
