About the Position Would you like a role where you can combine engineering, creativity, and project management – while being a key person in the future of sustainable pulp production? We are now seeking a design engineer to join our team at Södra Cell in Mönsterås with an interest in developing within instrumentation technology. Here you will have a role with great freedom and responsibility, where you play a key role in collaboration between mechanical, process, and automation teams. You will have the opportunity to drive and participate in projects while developing smart process solutions in one of the world's most modern pulp mills. What You'll Work On at Södra As a design engineer with us, your days will be filled with variety. One day you lead a project within instrumentation, the next you work on developing drawings, calculations, and documentation. You will have both your own projects and serve as sub-project manager on larger investments, collaborating with both internal and external resources from multiple technical areas. The role is creative and solution-oriented – you will be involved from idea and design, planning and budgeting, to the finished solution in operation. You will work closely with production and together with colleagues in process, mechanics, and automation, develop both new technical solutions and improve existing ones. Your Key Responsibilities Drive and manage design and engineering assignments, primarily within instrumentation Lead and participate in projects of varying sizes – from concept to finished solution Coordinate and align between different technical areas (mechanical, process, automation) Ensure documentation and handover to production and maintenance Contribute to the development of process solutions, work environment, and safety initiatives This is a permanent full-time position during daytime hours, based at Södra Cell in Mönsterås. Who Are We Looking For? We are seeking someone with a bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on process, electrical, or automation engineering, and experience working in a CAD environment. Experience from the process industry or other industrial sectors is also highly valued. You are someone who enjoys building and maintaining a broad professional network and likes collaborating with various professional groups. You are skilled at planning and executing your assignments with good structure using various digital tools. You enjoy problem-solving, are proficient at it, and can easily adapt and prioritize your work. A valid driver's license and proficiency in Swedish and English are required for this position.
