The Project Engineers South department consists of approximately 20 dedicated engineers specializing in electrical design, automation, and mechanical design. Geographically, we are located in multiple places throughout Sweden, working together as a tight team remotely. We are responsible for developing designs for control systems for switchgear stations and hydropower stations. Travel is part of the job to visit the stations. At Vattenfall Services, over 170 engineers work in control systems and testing throughout Sweden, which gives us excellent opportunities for collaboration and development for our engineers. Are you the one we are looking for as we now recruit a construction manager for our Station Projects? About the Role What does a Construction Manager for Station Projects do with us? Our customers operate in the energy and grid sector, industries, and infrastructure companies. The position involves leading our electrical engineers who develop electrical designs for station projects for transformer stations. This includes design of control systems, local power, protective relays, communication, and more. VSN handles station projects at all voltage levels from 10 kV to 400 kV. Projects include both renovation and new construction projects. You will have one or more engineers in your project team whom you lead, discuss technical solutions with, and review their work. You lead several projects in parallel. Within the scope of the projects, you report to the project manager. You hold the technical responsibility while the project manager holds the commercial responsibility. Here are examples of work tasks/responsibilities that will be included: Lead work on developing complete electrical designs Review colleagues' designs Ensure technical functionality and contract compliance Customer dialogue regarding technical solutions Review suppliers' technical solutions Review suppliers' deliveries such as GIS switchgear, transformers, etc. Mentor junior staff in Elmaster Serve as super user in Elmaster Requirements Specification We are looking for someone who is analytical and enjoys solving complex problems—nothing is impossible for you! You are very well versed in the field and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. Taking on a task and completing it together with the design team is second nature to you. Because the work involves complex issues, we also want you to be structured in your approach. We know you will develop together with us. However, we would like you to already have: Many years of experience designing control systems for switchgear or hydropower stations Experience configuring protective relays Experience with RTU, backup alarm transmitters, PLC programming Post-secondary electrical power education or equivalent work experience in electrical power Good knowledge of Elmaster Strong IT and computer skills Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Class B driver's license is required Meritorious: Leadership experience and good pedagogical skills Experience mentoring junior electrical engineers Good knowledge of Elprocad or EPLAN Additional Information What We Offer After several decades in the energy industry, we know that our employees are our most important and valuable asset.
