Workplace Description
We are seeking an experienced and organized conference administrator to organize an international scientific conference for researchers in the interdisciplinary field of cultural memory studies. The conference will bring together approximately 1,300 participants from universities, research institutes, and cultural institutions worldwide and is organized in collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities and Theology and the international research association Memory Studies Association (for more information about this organization, see: https://www.memorystudiesassociation.org/about_the_msa/).
The position is located at the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL). The appointee will be part of the conference's organizing committee, which includes several researchers, and will coordinate its work under the leadership of the conference director and professor at SOL, who is also president of the Memory Studies Association.

Tasks and Responsibilities
As a conference administrator, you will be responsible for the administrative and practical implementation of the conference before, during, and after the event. Your tasks will include:
Coordinating registration and participant services
Updating the conference website and information materials
Administering abstracts and conference program
Communicating with conference keynote speakers, researchers, and partners
Contacting venue coordinators, communicators at Lund University and the City of Lund, and suppliers
Handling budget documents and invoices
Supporting the organizing committee, program committee, and specially invited guests
Planning social activities and on-site logistics
Reporting to MSA after the conference concludes
Qualifications
Requirements for employment:
Experience administering large international conferences in a university environment
Excellent organizational skills and high service orientation
Experience working with digital conference systems and web publishing
Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written, and ability to communicate in Swedish
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in parallel
Academic degree
Meritorious qualifications:
Academic degree in project management, communication, or equivalent experience organizing conferences at Lund University
Other Information
This is a fixed-term position for approximately 11 months at 80 percent of full-time employment, with a start date of October 15, 2026, or by agreement. The Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) is Sweden's largest institution specializing in languages, linguistics, literary studies, and area studies. SOL offers approximately 500 independent courses supplemented by a growing number of programs at undergraduate and advanced levels. With its 36 subjects and approximately 30 doctoral programs, SOL forms a solid unit with breadth and depth in education and research and is distinguished by both national and international visibility. SOL is led by a board with the director as chair. Additionally, there are three associate directors with specific operational responsibilities.
