Your Assignment
As Communications Director, you'll also serve as unit manager and lead the communications unit with responsibility for staff, operations, budget, and development. The unit is responsible for the municipality's internal and external communication, press work, digital channels, and communication support to the operations.
You'll lead an engaged team and ensure that communication is strategic, clear, and effective. You have personnel and workplace environment responsibilities and ensure that the unit's processes are documented, known, and followed. You'll ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with laws, regulations, and the municipality's governance documents.
You'll have a central role in continuing to develop the communications unit and strengthen its strategic contribution to the municipality's operations and overarching goals. You'll report to our Director of Communication, Service, and Customer Relations.
Your role includes:
Developing and following up on goals, key metrics, and budget.
Driving development related to the strategic communication plan.
Driving digitalization and more efficient practices to create maximum value for taxpayers.
Responsible for press issues and crisis preparedness.
Maintaining ongoing dialogue with internal clients and managing consultants and consulting costs.
In short – you're a key person who contributes to the municipality's overarching goals and future development.

Your Experience
Management experience with responsibility for personnel and workplace environment.
Substantial experience with overall strategic and operational communication work.
Academic education or equivalent experience.
Documented experience managing media-intensive issues, crises, and societal disruptions.
Experience from public sector or politically governed organizations.
Experience in digital communication and operations development.
Meritorious
Experience from the agency side.
