Ekobrottsmyndigheten is an agency with specialists that conducts comprehensive crime prevention by preventing, detecting, stopping, investigating, and prosecuting economic crimes. All competencies and professional roles are gathered under one roof, and we work together to contribute to increased security and reduced crime by combating economic criminality.
The agency employs approximately 850 employees with various competencies such as prosecutors, police officers, investigators, administrators, and other specialists. We work together in fixed or temporary teams.
Our work includes crime prevention, intelligence activities, as well as investigation and prosecution. We also actively work to recover proceeds of crime. Crime prevention requires close and systematic cooperation with other agencies and well-developed international collaboration.
Your Role
As Chief Communications Officer with us, you will lead a unit of eight experienced employees where everyone, including you, is accustomed to doing what is needed. With us, you will move between working operatively here and now to working with long-term perspectives.
You report directly to the Director General and are part of the agency's management group. You have operational, budget, and personnel responsibility for the communications unit.
The Communications Unit is a support function responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating internal and external communications and providing support to managers and employees on communication matters. The unit is also responsible for the content and development of the agency's internal and external websites as well as the agency's communication with media and on social media.
Well-functioning external communication about the agency's mission and operations is a prerequisite for preventing and combating economic crime. Therefore, the role involves close collaboration with colleagues and operational representatives throughout the organization.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
Academic education with a focus on communications or similar
Several years of current experience working with communications in a complex organization
Documented strong leadership qualities and at least a couple of years of current experience with personnel responsibility
A good understanding of the civil servant role
