State Police College Registration No. 90000072027 invites you to join our team as Police Law Department Head (Professional classification code – 1345 14) (Official with special service rank, full-time position, indefinite term) Job responsibilities include: planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Department's work in compliance with external and internal regulatory requirements; monitoring the creation, placement and maintenance of educational program content, study courses and subjects in the Education Process Administration System (IPAS) and e-learning environment; collecting and evaluating information on study and teaching process implementation matters, providing recommendations to College management on ensuring and improving the study process; ensuring the development and updating of educational programs, professional development education programs and adult non-formal education programs, as well as ensuring their approval in accordance with regulatory procedures; ensuring the development and updating of study course descriptions and subject programs; ensuring the development of current and final examination content and requirements for study courses and subjects, as well as providing recommendations within the Department's competence regarding qualification exam and state examination requirements and content; supervising approved scientific or practical research progress in the Department, monitoring research implementation and completion within specified timeframes; ensuring the use of pedagogical teaching methods that meet College educational program requirements, providing recommendations for improving pedagogical teaching methods; preparing job descriptions for Department faculty and employees and monitoring the quality of execution of job or work duties specified therein; developing, submitting for approval and coordinating Department employee service duty execution and working time schedules and service duty execution and working time tracking tables, etc. Required education and professional experience: academic or second-level professional higher education in the following subject areas: law, civil and military defense, teacher education and educational sciences; social and human sciences, business and administration, social welfare, architecture and construction; professional experience in institutions within the Ministry of Interior system – at least five years, and experience in a leadership position – at least two years; understanding of professional ethics, conduct and career issues in police work; good data processing skills, understanding of software-related issues, information processing applications (MS Office, Open Office, document management system NAMEJS, etc.), and ability to work in the internet environment; understanding of personnel management, competence-based service (work) organization, supervision and oversight skills; a Category II clearance for access to state classified objects is required to perform job duties. We offer: stable and interesting work in a state institution on a full-time basis (40 hours per week); salary from EUR 2,160 to EUR 2,530 (gross), depending on obtained education, qualifications and experience; social guarantees; opportunity to develop and expand professional knowledge; work location in Riga, Ezermala Street 10, LV – 1014.
