We are now seeking a passionate, curious, and enthusiastic head chef who will build, inspire, and lead a team where service spirit and teamwork are central. You are an organized and natural leader who takes responsibility for kitchen operations in terms of execution, economics, and quality. As head chef, you are responsible for following laws and procedures as well as Compass Group's policies, rules, and values. The position includes responsibility for quality control, inventory management, recipe costing and post-costing, monitoring key performance indicators, waste management, and procurement. You are also responsible for creating sustainable dishes and menus based on trends, seasons, and guest preferences. About Restaurant Solsta Inn Restaurant Solsta Inn is located in the university area of Karlstad. We primarily serve students and university staff but are also open to external guests. The restaurant serves approximately 300 lunch guests per day and operates a catering business. We also operate two cafés in the area. Who are you? You have education in hospitality and restaurant management with a culinary focus or equivalent You have at least 5 years of experience as a chef or equivalent You have at least 2 years of experience with personnel and profit responsibility You should have experience working with menu planning systems You have excellent knowledge of gastronomy, nutrition, kitchen economics, and waste management You have analytical skills and are results-oriented You have the ability to plan and structure work efficiently You have the ability to lead and delegate work and implement decisions You are attentive and receptive with good knowledge of labor law and work environment You are creative and solution-oriented You see your importance in satisfied guests, are positive, stress-resistant, and collaborate and communicate easily You take responsibility through your passion for maintaining a high level of service and quality in what you deliver You enjoy fast-paced days, can take own initiative, and are flexible in your professional role You speak and write Swedish fluently You have good computer skills and knowledge of Office365 About Compass Group We are part of Compass Group, a world-leading provider of food, beverage, and support services.
