Do you want to take full responsibility for a kitchen operation where quality food, smart logistics, and strong leadership go hand in hand? Here you'll have the opportunity to help create a school restaurant where healthy, delicious, and nutritious food is served to students in both preschool and primary school, as well as to our educators and teachers. As Head Chef, you'll be responsible for preparing quality, healthy, and nutritious food from scratch for our campus, which when fully operational will serve approximately 1,200 lunch portions daily. You'll have the chance to help lay the foundation for many children's lifelong healthy eating habits. At JENSEN, we forge our own path. We believe in discipline, health, and daring to think big. As our Head Chef, you'll become part of a tightly-knit team with extremely high engagement – in fact, 91% of our employees recommend JENSEN as a workplace! Our high standards are confirmed repeatedly in the School Inspection's reviews. We combine classical education with modern "training for reality" through case studies and a focus on academic writing. We believe in professionalism, a strong health profile, and a clear dress code that reflects our ambitions. Responsibilities As our kitchen manager, you have overall responsibility for leading and developing kitchen operations to maintain high quality and economic sustainability. You are responsible for all production for our own school as well as secure logistics and delivery to our receiving units. Leadership & Personnel: Daily work management, scheduling, employee meetings, work environment (SAM), substitute management, and recruitment. Production & Logistics: Menu planning and development of JENSEN kitchen together with other head chefs, as well as responsibility for vehicles and route planning to receiving units. Finance: Budget responsibility and continuous forecasting and results monitoring. Hygiene & Quality: Ultimate responsibility for kitchen self-inspection (HACCP) and food hygiene. Collaboration: Close dialogue with principals and food follow-up through, for example, food committees. Qualifications We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for quality, varied, and healthy food made from scratch. You want to give students the opportunity for new taste experiences and a sense that food is both enjoyable and delicious, as well as plays a major role in health! Work in the kitchen is both independent and social – you prepare the food and engage with students in the dining hall to discuss food in an engaging way! You are an important person and should feel like part of JENSEN. As a chef, you are creative and resourceful and enjoy preparing quality healthy food. You are responsible and communicate well with both children and adults. Prior experience working in large-scale kitchens is a merit. You actively work to reduce food waste, increase the proportion of organic food, and develop school meals. We're looking for an ambitious Head Chef with strong leadership qualities and a positive management style. Your background should include at least 3 years of upper secondary education in a food program/culinary education with at least three years of professional experience. You should have knowledge of special diets, food safety, and school law requirements for nutritious meals. You should create a developmental and sustainable work environment in the kitchen within established parameters. You need good overall understanding and see quality service to our food guests as self-evident. We expect you to treat colleagues and food guests in a pleasant and professional manner. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. You should also have good computer skills and strong knowledge of reporting systems and feel confident in kitchen economics. Terms This is a permanent full-time position located at JENSEN Bro Mälarstrand. Start date by agreement. For this position, we apply a 6-month probationary period.
